But Real Talk: What the f**k is "Twerkin"

Y'all,

Miley Cyrus and the world have lost their minds. I totally realize that I'm late to this commentary party, but what the heck?! Students getting suspended, adorable Miley Cyrus, who is next, the President? Does anyone remember the semi sweet girl from Hannah Montana? Little miss Achy Breaky Heart...? If you have younger siblings, or are a parent you were always concerned about her sanity from the get go, you were always thinking she was a little too big for her short shorts and metallic silver performance scene pants. But this? Twerkin? I obviously have serious cultural identity issues.  Apparently it is common amongst "hood" folks, and now everybody wants to do it. Well, twerkers.... in the medical world, they call what you're doing having a seizure. All that shaking, and convulsing, it just isn't cute.  And don't get me wrong... I've tried all the hip (despite being that I am fatally unhip) dances... I've bernied, I can do the stanky leg, I can dougie like a sonabitch... but the twerk?! That is where I plum draw the line. Will someone give me my Hannah Montana back?!

Hey Y'all,

It has been awhile, over a year... hot damn. So much has changed in a year, and so much is changing for this blog! I've decided that I've become disaffected with the normal so so blogging, the inconsistent OOTD posts, or mindless ramblings about absolutely nothing-- when in my age group, we have so much deep shit going on. Deep. Shit. And we all have these vast opinions, and we're all growing and proceeding on a journey-- so why not bring y'all along for the ride? So I'm teaming up with a fellow visionary, and my best friend (Who happens to be amazing, hilarious and sure to entertain) to take you on our journey and to get a peek into yours! Of course, I'm still obsessed with the normal things that I was: fashion, interior design, what the latest idiot ass celebrity is up to, but I'm much more than that-- needless to say, I'm a little bit overqualified.

Focus! Help!

Hey Y'all,

I have my last final today, and its a doosy. A 24 hour take home doosy. So I would love prayers and crossed fingers, even ribbons around fingers and lots of good juju for focus today! It is going to be incredibly hard to lock myself in a room for 24 hours and not over stress, over analyze and just FOCUS. Focus on the business at hand and nothing else. Not the cute puppy faces looking up at me, or money concerns, or that stocked fridge down the hall. Just me, that cup of mint green tea and my test.

Im just like you, I have big puffy heart girl crushes.  Every day I come across amazing gals doing amazing, lust worthy and covetable things! Ashley Brooke Designs is amazing! Now I find myself just wanting everything. I just recently scooped up the Boca Grande in white. I'm obsessed with white!! It looks great against my skin tone and I can wear it with everything. And heck to the yeah will I be transitioning it into my wardrobe into the winter time (winter white y'all!)! Imagine it with bright yellow button down and a classic bermuda short, or against a mint flowy dress. Or even with a bright colored jean?! I can dress it up with a bang up lucite wedge, or I can dress it down with a Reva ballet flat or my Jack's. Personally I think the possibilities are endless. After all, it is white hot! Reality, can I get yo numba?!

Hey Y'all,

In the past two months reality has SMACKED me in the face. Work, trying to build local relationships, the unfortunate end of what I thought was the last relationship I'd ever have, sticky finances (dang it to budgets!), school and trying to stay sane have absorbed my life! And let me tell you what, being an adult is harder than mama warned!

But I have one final left, phew! And then I'll be back for good! I have so much to share and I'm so excited to share it with y'all!  So get ready for recap city! Ranging from a new job, more on the job that I have fallen in love with, my list of summer adventures (hello South, Ill be exploring you!), fun new outfit inspirations and finally-- yes finally, a HOME TOUR (Its almost done!).

I would love for y'all to be my blog's reality check and to hold me accountable!! Sometimes a girl needs a call from reality-- to decide what she wants and so she can figure out how she can juggle it all! So if you miss me, LET ME KNOW!
